E-Cell organised an Intern Fair was organised during IIT Ropar's Tech Fest-Advitiya. A total 31 Internship offers were made, mostly to first and second year students, in the field of Web Development, Android Development and Machine Learning.

Read moreIt is an on the spot contest where each team is provided with a newspaper and they are supposed to identify a problem (that can be social , political or others) and then propose a feasible solution to the problem in the form of an idea that will eventually turn into a startup. They are supposed to prepare a PPT for their company that will include their business model, marketing and scaling strategy.They will present the PPT in front of our judging panel. After the presentation followed by a rigorous QnA , the most innovative idea will stand victorious. Cash prizes were given to the winning teams.
To groom budding entrepreneurs, we had organized a Startup Conclave in Advitiya'20. Two events covered under startup conclave were BootCamp(Idea Evaluation) and Investor pitch(One-on-One Pitching Sessions in front of Investors & Showcasing of Products). BootCamp is an idea pitching event in which one can pitch his innovative ideas and can grab soft loans up to Rs. 20Lacs* from IIT Ropar’s Technology Business Incubator to scale up their idea/concept subject to the approval of its Project Evaluation & Monitoring Committee(PEMC), IIT Ropar. Few selected idea from Boot Camp will also be allowed to pitch their ideas in front of angel investors. Investor Pitch, Incorporated start-ups who want to extend their company have another opportunity to get funds from the angel investors or venture capitalists of the region in this event. The investors include the Vice President of Chandigarh Angels Networks(CAN).
E-Cell IIT Ropar, in collaboration with Advitiya’20 on 8Feb’20, organized Biz Busters Event to inculcate the solution thinking approach in the budding entrepreneurs. The event was divided in two stages, in stage one each team had to select a domain of their interest among the 5 domains provided to them. The best team from each domain was to be selected for the next round, in which a common problem was to be given to all the teams. The solution to the problems in round 1 were to be given in form of one page write up while for the second round the solution were to be delivered in form of a presentation. The problems for first round were based on the following sectors:- Automobile,Clean Technology,Furnishing Industry,Health and Wellnes,E- commerce. Top 6 Shortlisted teams were given a problem based on the food and technology sector.
E-Cell IIT Ropar organized Bizmeth on 10th of November 2019 in Quintessence, our intra-college tech fest. Participants were given a start-up, the idea behind it and the type of problem it is solving. Participants had to find ways to raise funds, scale up their start-up and had to do the necessary improvisations. Team size was 1-3 members. They had to give presentation for 7 minutes. Cash prize was given to top three teams.
The 2nd edition of Intern Fair was organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Ropar. The aim of Intern Fair was to provide Summer Internship to students of IIT Ropar in Start-ups to encourage entrepreneurial environment around them.
